Mitchell Peters has served as a writer and editor at Billboard for the past 15 years. In his current role as a weekend editor for Billboard.com, Mitchell provides in-depth coverage of breaking news and other trending topics in the music world. He previously worked as a full-time senior writer and website editor in Billboard's Los Angeles office, penning cover stories and feature articles about top artists and music industry trends. His other past duties included overseeing the magazine's album reviews section and providing on-the-ground coverage of high-profile events such as the Grammy Awards and Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Prior to Billboard, Mitchell was a staff writer at concert trade publication Pollstar, where he wrote articles about the touring business, profiled some of the industry's top players and covered live-entertainment conferences. His work has also appeared in The Hollywood Reporter, Reuters, Grammy.com, Venues Today, Mass Appeal and other publications. Although Mitchell wishes he was born just a few years earlier to witness the grunge movement, one of his career highlights was interviewing the surviving members of his favorite rock band, Nirvana, for Billboard's The Lessons of Grunge issue in 2011.
